August Giveaway

I was going through my box of starships stuff looking for a model to use in my Space Opera RPG when I came across these.

They are supplements for converting Starfleet Battles ships into Starmada Admiralty Edition which I bought a long time ago but never ended up using - Starmada Compendium was the last iteration of the rules that had the Shockwave weapon which I used for my Lyrans, and in this conversion they had it as a purely defensive thing. Pathetic.

Anyway, seeing them again led me into thinking about starship battles again, and I bought the Federation Commander Reference Rulebook and a couple of Ship Card Packs for the Klingons and Lyrans... at least they are all electronic and won't take up space (heheh).

Anyway, if you want these items, do leave a comment and I will draw a recipient on 01 Aug. This is not a first-come, first-serve offer.

The offer is free: once I let you know that you have won, do let me have your email address and I will send them off to you. You don't even have to pay for postage.

Good luck!

Also, there were no entries for the July Giveaway, so I am repeating that offer again this month and making the draw on 01 Aug too.

And, will Michael Mills contact me so I can send you your prize from the June Giveaway please?

Thank you.

July Giveaway

For the month of July, I am giving away several sprues of WW2 German infantry which I don't think I will ever get around to painting.

They are as follows:

Pegasus Hobbies German Fallschirmjaegers.

Leftover figures from Plastic Soldier Late War German Infantry

Plastic Soldier Company Self-propelled Gun Crew, and some soft plastic figures and equipment from the Pegasus Hobbies IG18 set

Once again, if you want these items, do leave a comment, and I will draw a recipient on 01 July. This is not a first-come, first-serve offer.

The offer is free: once I let you know you have been drawn, do let me have your email and mailing address and I will send them off to you. You don't even have to pay for postage; I am hoping to give these figures a good hope.

Good luck!

Added: Also, would Michael Mills contact me on this blog so I can send you last month's giveaway please? Thank you.

Black Tree Design Dwarf Hammerers and Stone Launcher and June Giveaway

A bit of a painting spree yesterday and today saw me clear my painting list. The two final units are the BTD Dwarf Hammerers pictured above, and the BTD Dwarf Stone Launcher pictured below.

The Hammerers are pretty much painted 'as is', except for the banner pole which I converted to look more GW. The command figures and three dwarves behind them are based on a stone plinth on a multibase, but the rest are based singly. As before, these are for Adrian and so the bases are left unflocked so he can complete them in his own style.

The Dwarf Stone Launcher came from Fg, who bought a few packs of the BTD dwarves way back when but never got around to painting them.

Which brings me to June's giveaway!

I have an extra Stone Launcher, plus a unit of 15 Hammerers to give away for June.

The Stone Launcher is missing the crossbar at the top (the thing that prevents the catapult arm from over-swinging, if you catch my meaning - I use a piece of plastic sprue cut to length to replace it).

The Hammerers come without a musician, and are missing a few shields.

Once again, if you want these two items, do leave a comment, and I will draw a recipient on 01 June. This is not a first-come, first-serve offer.

The offer is free: once I let you know you have been drawn, do let me have your email and mailing address and I will send them off to you. You don't even have to pay for postage; I am just helping Fg give these figures a chance to see some tabletop daylight.

Good luck!

Labour Day Giveaway

It's been a while since I have given something away on this blog, but due to some errors in the course of making purchases for my Kings of War project, I now have some redundant stuff on my hands which I hope to give a good home to.

The first is a unit of Black Hat Miniatures Dwarf Crossbows, complete with command figures. I ordered a pack of these way back when, but due to an incomplete address it could not be delivered. I ordered a second time, and this time it came, but without the command figures. I painted them up and called it a day.

Then some time later I ordered some War Haggises for my Night Goblin army, and an eagle-eyed employees at Black Hat noticed that the name and address matched that of the undelivered dwarves and sent them along, so now I have an extra unit. So if you are building or planning to build a dwarf army and would like an extra unit, do let me know in the comments sections below. Hopefully you like these figures enough to order more from Black Hat.

You get one command unit...

and 17 of crossbowmen

The second item is a set of D&G Pearl Purple & Gold 36 x D6 Dice Set. I ordered a set of Blue & Gold dice and a set of Green & Gold dice for my human and goblin respectively, but The Dice Shop Online sent me the purple set instead of the green set. I informed them of the mistake, and they sent me the green set, no questions asked. True Story.

Anyway, I am giving away this set of dice, so if you want them, do leave a comment and I will include you in the draw.

Once again, if you want either of these items, do leave a comment stating which item you want, and I will draw a recipient on Labour Day. This is not a first-come, first-serve offer.

The offers are free: once I let you know you have been drawn, do let me have your email and mailing address and I will mail it off to you. You don't even have to pay for the postage; I am hoping that by sharing these product I will help the two companies gain some new business.

Good luck.

July Giveaway

This month, I am giving away the Tamiya 1/48 scale M20 kit.

I bought this with the intent of converting it to a Space Marine vehicle, but as I mentioned in this post, it was too small for my purpose and I ended up buying a 1/35 kit instead. So let's you and I try to make the best of a bad situation and hopefully get this kit to someone who is already using 1/48 scale vehicles for their WW2/Bolt Action game, shall we?

Let me know if you want the above by leaving a comment, and I will draw a winner on the 15th of the month. This is not a first-come, first-serve offer,

To save on postage, I will be sending this kit in a padded envelop with only the top half of the box folded flat to provide some protection. A few parts (the main chassis) have been cut from the sprue, but otherwise the kit should be complete, with instructions, decals, and a length of string for tow cable.

This offer is free; once I let you know you have been drawn, do let me have your email and mailing address, and I will mail it to you. You don't even have to pay for postage. I am doing this not to get some money back, but to give these toys a good home. If you want to pay back somehow, I ask that you make a small donation to a local charity, or consider doing the same thing I am doing and give some gaming stuff that you no longer need/use a new lease of gaming life.

Thank you.

June Giveaway

(image from onthewaymodels)

This month, I am giving away a 20mm WW2 Soviet bundle.

A while back I bought the Italeri JSU-152 box set that came with two kits in it: one for a "standard" model, and one for a quick-build "wargamer's" model. After examining both kits, I decided to build the standard kit and give away the quick-build kit.

You get a complete kit in single sprue, depicted above, plus some decals that came in the box. To save on postage I am sending the sprue in a padded envelop, with the box collapsed.

I have also included a couple of sprues from Zvezda, being:

(image from plastic soldier review)

a single Soviet 45mm anti-tank gun depicted above, including the mini-diorama base but MINUS the crew figures. The sprue comes with parts to build the gun in tow position, so you can either use it for a towed gun model, wreck it for a wrecked gun terrain piece, or supply your own crew.

and:

(image from plastic soldier review)
the two rifle-armed infantrymen on the left side of the picture above - two of the first and one of the second, a total of 3 figures.

Not nearly enough to recreate a Russian horde, but hopefully just what you need to round out that platoon.

Let me know if you want the above by leaving a comment, and I will draw a winner on the 15th of the month. This is not a first-come, first-serve offer,

Thank you.

May Giveaway

This month, I am giving away my copy of Reaper's Warlord rulebook. The rules are now in their second edition, so this copy is probably only good for historical interest, fluff, eye candy, and the painting guide.

March Giveaway

This month, I am giving away my copy of Osprey's Of Gods and Mortals.

I bought the rules with high hopes for some inter-pantheon mayhem, but unfortunately they didn't quite hit the spot with me. Instead of just letting the booklet gather dust on my shelf, here is your chance to own it!

Let me know if you want the above by leaving a comment, and I will draw a winner on the 15th of the month. This is not a first-come, first-serve offer.

This offer is free; once I let you know you have been drawn, do let me have your email and mailing address, and I will mail it off to you. You don't even have to pay for postage. February Giveaway

With the holiday season over, I would like to start my monthly giveaway once more.

This month I am giving away a few sprues of 1/72 figures/parts from Plastic Soldier Company. They are a combination of an error on the part of the store, and my clicking on the wrong item when I made the order...

The large sprue is the 1/72 Sd Kfz 251/D Variants conversion bits - there is no vehicle in the sprue, only bits to convert a PSC Sd Kfz 251/D to one of it variants.

The two smaller packs are of German self-propelled gun crew (from their Marder set) and Russian Artillery crew.

I may also throw in other loose bits that I no longer need.

Let me know if you want the above by leaving a comment, and I will draw a winner on the 15th of the month. This is not a first-come, first-serve offer.

This offer is free; once I let you know you have been drawn, do let me have your email and mailing address, and I will mail it off to you. You don't even gave to pay for postage. I am doing this not to get some money back, but to give these toys a good home. If you want to pay back somehow, I ask that you make a small donation to a local charity, or consider doing the same thing I am doing and give some gaming stuff that you no longer need/use a chance for a new lease of gaming life.

Thank you.

November Giveaway

For this month I am giving out a copy of Flagship Games' Habet, Hoc Habet, and two sprues of gladiator figures from CastleCraft, a Russian toy company.

The two sprues are identical, and the figures are 25mm from sole to top of the head, or 23mm to the eye. They are shorter than most of the 25mm figures commonly used for gladiator combat, and are not compatible unless you plan to field them as midgets (am I allowed to use that word?).

Let me know if you are interested by leaving a comment, and I will draw a recipient on the 15th of the month so it can possibly reach you by Christmas. This is not a first-come, first-serve offer.

The offer is free; once I let you know you have been drawn, do let me have your email and mailing address and I will mail it off to you. You don't even have to pay for postage. I am doing this not to get some money back, but to give these rules a good home. If you want to pay back somehow, I ask that you make a small donation to a local charity, or consider doing the same thing I am doing and give some rulebooks that you no longer use a chance for a new lease of gaming life.

Good luck.

March Giveaway

In honour of Leonard Nimoy, this month's giveaway features a bundle of sci-fi rules which, while may not have lived long, certainly prospers in the form of its descendent.

Up for grabs are Laserburn, Advanced Laserburn, and the Imperial Commander supplement. As you can see by the labels, I got them from Spirit Games (a long time ago).

Again, the rules are:

Let me know if you are interested in getting either of the bundles by leaving a comment, and I will draw a recipient on the 15th of the month. This is not a first-come, first-serve offer.

January Giveaway

In November 2013 I gave away a couple of bundle of rulebooks, and I was planning to continue to do so but 2014 started off bad for me. Anyway, things are more settled now and I want to continue to give away some of my stuff over the next few months.

The offer this month is on a copy of Contemptible Little Armies, pictured above.

The "rules", once again, are:

Let me know if you are interested in getting either of the bundles by leaving a comment, and I will draw a recipient at the end on the 15th of the month. This is not a first-come, first-serve offer.
The offer is free; once I let you know you have been drawn, do let me have your email and mailing address and I will mail it off to you. You don't even have to pay for the postage. I am doing this not to get some money back, but to give these rules a good home.
